Laim Laim is the 5th district of the Bavarian capital, Munich, where our company Schlüsseldienst Laim also operates. In 1992, when the districts of Munich were reorganized and reduced in number, Laim was merged with the neighbouring Schwanthalerhöhe to form the new 8th Schwanthalerhöhe-Laim district. Laim then became independent and the 25th district of Munich. Today, Laim is used almost exclusively as a residential area.
Contrary to common misconceptions, Laim is not the same as the 14th district of Munich, Berg am Laim. Laim is located in the western part of Munich. Laim occupies an area of 5.29 km², 66.1% of which is residential (with associated free space) and 28.3% is transport.
